We are looking for a reliable Quality Assurance officer to ensure that all external and internal quality requirements are maintained in all operations. You will be responsible for inspecting procedures and outputs and identifying mistakes or non-conformity issues. You will also be charged with completing all quality assurance activities necessary for obtaining certification such as Global GAP.
An excellent Quality Assurance Manager has eyes like a hawk and solid experience in quality control. The ideal candidate is a reliable and competent professional whose approval will be necessary for the continuation of a business life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications
- Monitoring all operations that affect quality and ensuring that they are being carried out according to Global GAP and other relevant certification standards
- Investigating and setting standards for quality and health and safety
- Inspect and/or audit (or monitor inspections of) critical phases of the organization’s operations and maintain written and signed records of findings and corrective actions.
- Working with operations staff to establish procedures, standards and systems
- Work in close liaison with the operations teams to review, refine and document SOPs for all key operational processes
- Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external service providers
- Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
- Requesting for and obtaining certifications for the organization’s (including its growers) produce
- Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
- Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures
- Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities
- Collect and compile statistical quality data
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
- Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
- Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards
- Supervise and guide inspectors, technicians and other staff
- Report all malfunctions to management to ensure immediate actions
- Review current standards and policies
- Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation
- Preparing regular reports to management on audit and quality assurance activities
Requirements
- BSc in Agriculture or relevant field
- Proven experience as a quality assurance manager or relevant role
- Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
- Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
- Good knowledge of MS Office and databases
- Outstanding communication skills
- Great attention to detail and a result driven approach
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
- Certification in quality control is a strong advantage
